Spiritual Audition: I Cantori di Carmel, Saturday May 27, 2023 at 7:30 pm

I Cantori di Carmel (Monterey, California – USA) was founded in 1981. The choir has given concerts featuring choral masterpieces from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary periods – including such major works as Mozart’s Requiem, J.S. Bach’s Cantatas, Beethoven’s Mass in C Major, Puccini’s Missa, and many others.

Under the direction of Music Director Daniel Henriks, the choir is deeply committed to the legacy of great choral music.

Daniel Henriks is a versatile, unconventional and passionate opera singer and conductor. His conducting work focuses on choral masterpieces such as Bach’s Magnificat, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and many others. He conducted his first choir at the age of 13. At 18, he was the founding music director of a symphony orchestra, and a concert choir composed of students from international conservatories & young professional musicians.
In recent years, he has become a much sought after voice teacher. He holds a master’s degree from the Juilliard School.

Following their tour of France and Spain, I Cantori di Carmel will perform a spiritual audition in Chartres Cathedral on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 7:30 pm.

The program will include works by Tallis, Palestrina, Duruflé, Copland and Poulenc.
