Opening hours

Notre-Dame de Chartres Cathedral welcomes you every day of the year, continuously from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm.
On Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays in July and August, the cathedral is open until 10:00 p.m. for Special Evening Events (Soirées Autrement program).

Entry to the cathedral is free, and visitors are welcome  to visit – with the possibility of renting Video guides found in the cathedral store located inside the main entrance of the cathedral.

Guided tours must have an accredited tour guide and be reserved in advance through the Cathedral Rectory, the only ones authorized to issue them.

Visitors are not allowed to circulate in the nave and transepts while masses and celebrations are taking place. This is of course out of respect for prayerful gatherings in this great place of Christian pilgrimage.
