World Day of the Poor: musical hour with Ensemble Jubileo, Sunday November 17, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Ensemble Jubileo ‘s solidarity project was born of an incredible encounter between Jubileo choristers and people weakened by life and often homeless, in Chartres.
This encounter gave rise, in November 2023, to an unprecedented musical time in the cathedral, alternating musical sequences from Antonín Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, with readings made by these people on the human capacity to remain standing in their lives.

After rehearsals on Saturday, Ensemble Jubileo, directed by Pierre Walter, will perform Dvořák’s Stabat Mater again at the cathedral on Sunday November 17 at 4:00 pm, with artists from Foyer d’Accueil Chartrain, Société de Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Le Bercail, L’Oasis, Point Refuge, Secours Catholique, and many others…

Founded in 2009 by L. Bénézit and M. Lonsdale, Ensemble Jubileo is distinguished by its commitment to artistic activities of social and cultural significance, and organizes concerts in unconventional venues such as hospitals, prisons, railway stations, migrant camps and so on.
