Lent and Easter: all the events
Thu. 29 Feb. / ParoisseAsh Wednesday (February 14 this year) marks the beginning of the Lenten season, 40 days lived by Christians as a beautiful climb towards Easter (March 31).
It is a favorable time for the Spirit of God to renew them interiorly through prayer, fasting and sharing.
The climax is the Holy Week which opens on Palm Sunday and especially the “Easter Triduum”: Holy Thursday (memory of the Lord’s supper), Good Friday (memory of the Lord’s passion) and the Easter Vigil during which eight adults who are preparing for baptism will be baptized.
Let yourself be associated with this ascent towards Easter by participating in the proposals of the Cathedral and Notre-Dame parish.

WAY OF THE CROSS
A highlight of Holy Week, the Way of the Cross is a pilgrimage that consists of following Christ along the path of his Passion, watching, praying, meditating and understanding.
It was established in the 14th century at a time when the journey to Jerusalem was difficult for Christians to accomplish. The journey of Christ is symbolized in the churches in the form of paintings or sculptures.

FASTING AND PRAYER
Fasting is to voluntarily deprive oneself of food or social networks!
In a time when many accumulate, it is a question of adopting a simpler way of life, more sober to mark in its body a desire of conversion.
Each one is invited, according to his age and inner disposition, to choose a point of deprivation on Ash Wednesday, and to talk about it with other Christians in order to support oneself in the chosen approach.
To support each other in these spiritual exercises and deepen our faith. Let us meet for a teaching given by the priests of the parish and a practice of fasting and prayer.
Every Friday during Lent, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Visitation (22-24 avenue d’Aligre, Chartres)
