Wed. 19 Feb. / ConcertThe Westminster Ensemble is an auditioned choir from the choral music program at Westminster Schools (Atlanta, USA).
It performs a wide repertoire, ranging from the Renaissance to the present day, including Gregorian chant, Appalachian folk music, and American musical theater.
A highlight of their program is an annual international tour, held during spring break. The ensemble has performed in prestigious venues such as St. Peter’s Basilica (Vatican), the Sagrada Familia (Barcelona), Notre-Dame de Paris, and many more.
Musical Direction
Since 2016, Dr. Christopher M. Walters has led the choral music program, bringing his artistic expertise to international performances. His dedication earned him the Schoen Faculty Excellence Award in 2021. He has conducted choirs in renowned venues such as Walt Disney World, Bath Abbey, and Salzburg Cathedral.
Accompaniment
Jason Maynard, high school choral music and music theory teacher, received the Alumni Fellows Award in 2021 and the Goizueta Foundation Faculty of Distinction Award in 2022. He has conducted and performed in prestigious venues, including the Kennedy Center in Washington and Carnegie Hall in New York.
