Wed. 5 Jun. / ConcertDavidson United Methodist Church (DUMC) is located in Davidson, North Carolina, USA, fifteen minutes north of Charlotte, the state’s largest city. This 4,000-member church in western North Carolina boasts a rich and varied music ministry, led by four staff members and numerous volunteers.
DUMC’s weekly worship includes three Sunday morning services, all in a traditional liturgical format. The Chancel Choir and the Handbell Choir regularly lead these services, as well as special celebrations during the holiest periods of the Christian calendar.
The choirs share a passion for interpreting music of great diversity. They strive to lead worship in ways that glorify God.
Their repertoires include major works such as John Rutter’s Requiem, Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light and Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass.
Recently, they have commissioned works by renowned composers such as Daniel Gawthrop and Michael John Trotta.
DUMC’s choirs have had the opportunity to sing in various venues around the world, transcending denominational boundaries. Their tours have taken them to Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, England, France, Canada and across the USA.
