Concerts offered by the Association des grandes orgues de Chartres as part of Soirées Estivales 2024
The Cathedral is made just as much for silent gathering as it is for live music. The evening is accompanied by either a choir or musical instruments. Different works from the 12th to the 21st century are interpreted in the most intimate atmosphere of spirituality and emotion. Being in profound osmosis within this beautiful space is an unforgettable moment…
Visitors can enter, have a seat or walk around (with utmost discretion). Artists find the appropriate place in the cathedral for perfect harmony and sound of their musical instruments and sacred music, and also take moments of meditation. Unlike a concert, the artists make the cathedral resonate in a different and special way.

Launched in 1991 by the city of Chartres, the Soirées Estivales offer Eurelians and tourists the chance to enjoy evening entertainment during the summer months of July and August.
The Association des grandes orgues de Chartres, invited to take part, offers an organ recital in the cathedral every Thursday at 9:00 pm.
Once again this year, as the great organ is being rebuilt until the end of 2025, the association has invited several musical ensembles to perform: voices, strings, brass, backed up by the choir organ. Concerts on July 18 and 25, and August 1, 8 and 22, 2024 (no concert on August 15).
