Among the objects that frequently appear in the stained glass windows, one finds closed cups with lids made of precious metal (likely gold, silver, and gilded copper). There is no doubt that in the mind of a person from the 1200s, this is a sign of wealth – the flavor of the treats contained within sometimes equaling the beauty of the container.
