Advent and Christmas time at Notre-Dame cathedral: all events

For 1,000 years, the cathedral has been the place where Christians celebrate God’s approach to mankind in Jesus Christ: Christmas.
The season of Advent prepares our hearts for this feast. Enter into God’s joy!

ADVENT MASSES  at the cathedral

Saturday: Early Mass at 6:00 pm
Sunday:
9:00 am: Latin Mass with the Gregorian Choir
11:00 am: High Mass
12:15 pm : 15-minute Gospel flash tour of the cathedral’s stained glass windows
5:00 pm: Adoration followed by Vespers
6:00 pm: Mass
At the entrance of the cathedral, find the crib! Each Sunday of Advent, new characters will be added: the shepherds, Joseph, Mary, waiting for the Child…

From December 21 to 24: welcome visitors for a time of prayer and dialogue in front of the crib from 3:00 to 5:30 pm.

Tuesday, December 24:
at 5:30 pm: Mass for families
at 11:00 pm: Musical vigil animated by the Choir of the cathedral (director Pauline Bonneau Pfeiffer)
at 12:00 midnight: Midnight Mass – Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ

Wednesday, December 25th:
at 9:00 am: Christmas Day Mass, Latin Mass – led by the Gregorian Choir of the Cathedral
at 11:00 am: Solemn Mass of the Nativity – led by the Cathedral Choir
at 5:30 pm: Vespers
at 6:00 pm: Mass – animated by the Sisters of Saint Paul

 

 

ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS season: all events

FEAST OF NOTRE-DAME – IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Saturday, December 7 :
Procession to sing and meditate on the Mystery of the Immaculate Conception and the Nativity.
Meet at Saint-Jean-Baptiste church in Rechèvres:
– at 6.30 pm for the youth mass;
– after mass, departure of the procession at 8:00 pm, arriving at the cathedral at 9:00 pm.

 

Monday, December 9 at 11:45 am (cathedral choir), 18:15 pm (choir), 8:00 pm (in the crypt *) : Masses of the Immaculate Conception
In 1855, Our Lady of the Pillar was solemnly crowned, shortly after the dogma was proclaimed.

DAY OF FORGIVENESS

For this exceptional day, several priests will be at your disposal in the ambulatory of the cathedral. They will receive you to give you the sacrament of reconciliation.

 

 

EVENTS AND CONCERTS

  • at Saint-Pierre church:

Les clés de Saint-PierreSaturday, November 30 from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm:
The “Keys to Saint-Pierre” event will offer families a Christmas show, decoration workshop, carols, candlelight adoration… parishioners’ artistic talents at the service of the Annunciation – open to all, young and old – download flyer.
At 6:30 pm, an early candlelit mass to usher in Advent as a parish. Hot drinks will be served after mass.

  • at the cathedral:

Saturday, December 14 from 4:45 pm to 6:00 pm:
Christmas carols sung by the Amris Laetitia missionary choir, rendez-vous at Place Billard.
The approach of Christmas is a time for joy: a way of calling out to passers-by and inviting them to cross the threshold of the cathedral to the cot. Mulled wine will be offered at the end of the entertainment at 6pm.

 

Saturday, December 14 at 8:45 pm:
Musical time of prayer in the crypt, led by the ensemble NatTrio, Chemin Neuf community, with Marina Poydenot (guitar, flute, vocals) – Fereng Virag (keyboards, guitar, vocals) – Romain Feron (violin, percussion, vocals).

 

 

Sunday, December 22 at 4:00 pm:
« Chantons Noël » with the choir of the Maîtrise
Christmas of yesterday and today accompanied by the organ: come and share in the songs of Advent and the Nativity, and sing along with the traditional refrains (free admission).

 

 

Sunday, December 31 at 3:30 pm:
The concert by the Paul Kuentz Choir and Orchestra has been cancelled.
